"What's in a name? That which we call a rose..."

I guess I do have one other thing to report for the weekend. My brother and his girlfriend have decided to get together and share a last name. But they haven't decided which name to share yet. So I thought it would be fun to use your collective creative abilities. Here is what they have thought of so far.

Bradley & Sunny Belle
Bradley & Sunny Turtledove
Bradley & Sunny Boots

Their names right now are Bradley Reynolds and Sunny Thomas. Bradley likes Boots best so far.

What do you think? Give me your ideas.

Marlowe. I came to this from Marlo Thomas, Danny Thomas' Daughter and wife of Phil Donahue. How about Wrap, like Reynolds Wrap.

my vote goes for wrap, but i'll keep thinking about this.

I say "Smith." That many people can't be wrong.

"Days" would be funny for Sunny.

They could also do something sappy and pick a name that exemplifies their togetherness. For instance, "Le Deux" or "Zusammen"

Personally, if I were to change my last name, I'd choose something that connects me to interesting historical families because I'm a poseur. (This is actually illegal in Poland.) So, I think Radziwiłłów (which would mean I'd be related to the Kennedys and Arnold), Bernadotte (the current Swedish dynasty started by one of Napoleon's generals), Rozumovskiy (it means "from brain village" but is also a famous name), or, you know, von Saxe-Coburg-Goethe.

Or you could change it to anything with a "Saint" of all the name particles, that's the coolest. Bradley St. Francois.

How about Climber, or Clamber, or Rock, you know, something about what they like to do. Fletcher is just someone who makes arrows, Reeve, is a CEO of a manor, Cooper tends barrels, Schroeder is like Cooper except more specific to like a dolly for carrying beer. Thatcher, you know, they are lady prime ministers. El Cid would be a fun two parter.

There is a Clymers, Indiana. I think that would work nicely, but drop the Indiana. I told a co-worker about the quest and she said Orlando. Then we realized Sunny Orlando might be a bit much. However, sticking with Orlando, hows about Bloom, nice alliteration for Bradley and nice image for Sunny.

Joel (my partner) and I are the Bombkley's. A combination of our last names. Just last week the Bombkley's ordered daVinci's.

That reminds me of when you yourself were one of the Harmuparnolds. I'd completely forgotten.
